    1. What is Triathlon Ukraine and which races will it organize in 2021?

    Triathlon Ukraine is a joint project of the Run Ukraine company, which has been organizing the largest running events in Ukraine for over 10 years, and Sapik Team, the best triathlon team in Ukraine, 18th in Europe and 130th in the world. 

    The Triathlon Ukraine team will organize 5 races in 2021, starting with a duathlon and finishing with a half of the classic triathlon distance:

    1. Where will the races take place?

    All Triathlon Ukraine races will be taking place in Kyiv. 

    Triathlon races Sprint Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021, Olympic Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021, Triathlon 70.3 Kyiv Cup 2021 will start on Naberezhne highway and finish on the Kontraktova square. 

    Duathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 will start on Rusanivka (Rusanovsky Boulevard 1)

    Aquathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 will start on Berezniaki (Pavel Tychyna Avenue 18A).

     

    1. When does registration for the races open?

    Registration for three triathlon races Sprint Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021, Olympic Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021, Triathlon 70.3 Kyiv Cup 2021 opens on December 29, 2020. 

    Registration for Duathlon Kyiv Cup and Aquathlon Kyiv Cup opens on February 9, 2021.

     

    1. How can I register for the Triathlon Ukraine races?

    1) Choose a race and go to the event website.

    2) Click “Register”.

    3) Enter your login and password to enter your personal profile if you registered for our events before.

    4) Click “Enter”.

    Please, notice! If you haven’t participated in the Triathlon Ukraine races before, you need to click “Register” and submit your personal information before you enter your login and password. Once your registration is successful, you will receive an email with your login and password to enter your personal profile.

    5) Check all your information in the personal profile and fill in the missing boxes.

    6) Choose additional goods, if you wish, and click “Далі”.

    7) Confirm your order, enter your bank card details and click “Pay”.

    8) If your payment is successful and you receive an email informing you about successful payment, look for your starter’s letter in your personal profile (“My events” tab) or in your e-mailbox provided at registration. Your starter’s letter will include the following information: course, age, race number, last name and first name, contact information.

    1. How do I pay the entry fee?

    According to Regulations of Triathlon Ukraine 2021, participants pay their entry fee by electronic payment on the organizer’s website.

    The payment service is provided by the Interbank system of electronic delivery and invoice payment Portmone.com using a modern and secure payment card authorization mechanism. Payment card details are entered on the Portmone.com website in a secure mode and are not available to employees.

     

    1. How long will the registration for the Triathlon Ukraine races be open?

    Registration for Sprint Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 is open from December 29, 2020 through May 22, 2021 in case of available slots. 

    Registration for Olympic Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 is open from December 29, 2020 through July 3, 2021 in case of available slots.

    Registration for Triathlon 70.3 Kyiv Cup 2021 is open from December 29, 2020 through July 24, 2021 in case of available slots. 

    Registration for Duathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 is open from February 9, 2021 through April 17, 2021.

    Registration for  Aquathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 is open from February 9, 2021 through May 15, 2021.

     

    1. In what format will the races take place: offline or online?

    The organizers plan to hold the races in the offline format in compliance with all quarantine regulations. Depending on the quarantine zone (green, yellow, orange), organizers will have the participants start in waves. 

     

    1. Will I get a refund of the entry fee if I cannot participate in the race?

    No, the entry fee is nonrefundable.

     

    1. Can I transfer my registration slot to another participant?

    Yes.

    The entry fee paid by a participant can be transferred to another person within the event for free not later than 30 days before the race.

    To transfer your registration slot to another participant earlier than 30 days before the race, submit an individual application by sending an email to  [email protected], state “Transfer of registration slot” in the subject line, and provide all required information.

    If you want to transfer a registration slot to another person in the 30-day period before the race, this service will cost 150 UAH.

    To transfer your registration slot to another participant in the 30-day period before the race, purchase a certificate for the transfer of registration slot in the Run Ukraine  store https://runukraine.org/shopping/, then submit an individual application by sending an email to [email protected], state “Transfer of registration slot”  in the subject line, and provide all required information.

     

    1. How will I get the participant’s start pack?

    Start packs will be distributed at the Expo on the eve of the race, i.e. on April 24 for Duathlon Kyiv Cup 2021, on May 15 for Aquathlon Kyiv Cup, on May 22 for Sprint Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021, on July 3 for Olympic Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021, on July 24 for Triathlon 70.3 Kyiv Cup 2021.

    To receive your start pack, you will need to present your starter’s letter and an ID.

     

    1. Can my start pack be picked up by another person?

    Yes, your start pack can be picked up by another person, provided that:

    I, (full name of the person who purchased registration), ask you to give my start pack with the race number (specify your race number) to my representative (full name of the representative picking up the start pack), since I am unable to do this in person. 

    Date, signature of the person who purchased registration.

     

    1. Can I receive my start pack if I can’t come to the Expo and no one else can pick it up for me?

    Yes, the organizers keep the start packs for 30 calendar days after the race. A participant can pick up the pack in person at the Run Ukraine office. To do so, please, email us at [email protected]

    You can also submit a request for the start pack to be mailed to you to your specified address. Delivery expenses are covered by the participant.

     

    1. What else do I need, besides the purchased registration slot, to participate in the race?

    All participants must have:

     

    1. At what age can I start participating in the Triathlon Ukraine races?

    Participants who have reached 18 years of age are admitted to the Triathlon Ukraine races. 

     

    1. Are there any time limits for the Triathlon Ukraine races? If so, what are they?

    Yes, there are time limits. 

    Duathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 (running 5 km + cycling 20 km + running 2.5 km): overall time limit 1 hour 40 minutes. A participant is not admitted to the third stage, if he/she takes more than 1 hour 20 minutes to finish the first two stages. 

    Aquathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 (swimming 1 km + running 5 km): overall time limit 1 hour 10 minutes. 

    Sprint Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 (swimming 750 m + cycling 20 km + running 5 km): overall time limit 2 hours. A participant is not admitted to the third stage, if he/she takes more than 1 hour 15 minutes to finish the first two stages. 

    Olympic Triathlon Kyiv Cup 2021 (swimming 1500 m + cycling 40 km + running 10 km): overall time limit 3 hours 40 minutes. A participant is not admitted to the third stage, if he/she takes more than 2 hours 20 minutes to finish the first two stages. 

    Triathlon 70.3 Kyiv Cup 2021 (swimming 1900 m + cycling 90 km + running 21.0975 km): overall time limit 7 hours. A participant is not admitted to the third stage, if he/she takes more than 5 hours 5 minutes to finish the first two stages. 

     

    1. Are there any discounts?

    The following categories have the right to a discount of 35 %:

    To receive a discount, a participant must submit an individual application by sending an email to [email protected] with “Special category” in the subject line.

    When submitting the application, you need to include documents in accordance with your privileged category: a copy of passport, pension certificate, combatant certificate, certificate of a person with a disability, a special certificate of an internally displaced person from the ATO zone.

    1. Are there any outfit requirements for the swimming stage?

    All participants must participate in the swimming stage in swimming caps. Depending on the water temperature, category and age group, wetsuits may be required. 

    For the “PRO” category. If the distance is 1500 m or less, the participant is forbidden to wear a wetsuit during the swimming stage when the water temperature is +20 ºC and above. The participant must cover the distance in a wetsuit if the water temperature is +15.9 ºC and below. If the distance is 1501 m or more, the participant is forbidden to wear a wetsuit during the swimming stage when the water temperature is +22 ºC and above. The participant must  cover the distance in a wetsuit if the water temperature is +15.9 ºC and below.

    For participants in the age groups. If the distance is 1500 m or less, the participant is forbidden to wear a wetsuit during the swimming stage when the water temperature is +22 ºC and above. The participant must cover the distance in a wetsuit if the water temperature is +15.9 ºC and below. If the distance is 1501 m or more, the participant is forbidden to wear a wetsuit during the swimming stage when the water temperature is +24.6 ºC and above. The participant must  cover the distance in a wetsuit if the water temperature is +15.9 ºC and below.

    The mandatory wetsuit must cover at least the torso. The thickness of the wetsuit should not exceed 5 mm. 

     

    1. What should a participant do if he/she needs help during the swimming stage?

    If a participant needs help during the swimming stage, he/she should raise the hand above the head and call for help.

     

    1. Are there any requirements or restrictions for the bikes? Can I participate in the race on a MTB?

    You can use any bike for the race, the main requirement is that both wheels must have serviceable brakes.

    Also, bicycle wheels should not be equipped with any acceleration mechanisms. 

     

    1. Are there any outfit requirements for the running stage?

    A participant must not cover the distance with a naked torso, as well as with a helmet on his/her head. 

     

    1. When should a participant bring his/her bicycle and equipment to the transit zones?

    The participant must bring his/her bicycle and equipment for cycling to the transit zone #1 and equipment for running to the transit zone #2 in advance.

    For triathlon races, the participant must bring his/her equipment to the transit zones the day before the race. Participants of Sprint and Olympic races may bring their equipment on the morning of the day of the race. 

     

    1. How many participants can participate in the relay race?

    Three or two participants may participate in the relay race.

    If three participants participate in the relay, then each participant covers his/her own relay stage (swimming, cycling, or running). If two participants participate in the relay, then one participant chooses one stage, and the other participant covers two stages. 

    Teams may be purely male, purely female or mixed.

     

    1. Can I change the order of relay participants after registration?

    Yes, you can change the order of participants in your personal profile on the event website.

     

    1. Will I get cashback for purchase of registrations for the Triathlon Ukraine races?

    Yes, 10% of the cost of each purchased registration is credited to the participant’s personal cashback account.

    That is, for every 10 UAH spent on the purchase of registration, the participant receives 1 bonus to the cashback account. 1 bonus from the cashback account is equal to 1 UAH.

    You can spend the accumulated bonuses for the purchase of slots for future events.

    When registering for Triathlon Ukraine races, you can use cashback accumulated from registrations for running events from Run Ukraine.
